Stevenson Designed Solutions is a company with a deep creative background and a desire to solve problems. This sounds a bit corny, but it's true: We like making things work better, whether starting from scratch with a brand new concept or solving existing problems.

At Stevenson Designed Solutions, we are — first and foremost — designers. Our strongest passions lie in experimental vehicle design, blending new technologies with traditional sensibilities. That being said, we have worked on alternative energy projects, solar boat projects of many sizes, sailboats and sailcars, greenhouses, furniture design — A pretty broad range of challenges. Our extensive historical perspective allows us to have a better idea of when to use new approaches to a solution, and when there’s a perfect concept from the past which may have been overlooked or forgotten…Experience counts, and there’s a lot of it stored up in the past.

Stevenson Designed Solutions grew out of the experiences of Stevenson Projects and the history of previous generations. The decades of work in publishing DIY project plans primarily, as well as producing independant magazines, writing several non-fiction books, creating prototypes of experimental vehicles for corporate sponsors, and many, many more design challenges was a deep and inspiring pool of knowledge and experience to draw from. The many varied projects and challenges which Stevenson Projects undertook paved the way for Stevenson Designed Solutions' broader scope and greater range of capabilities.
